Absolutely wrong. How long have these new initiatives been in place, maybe two years? European countries wait a decade before passing judgements.
We do not wait the necessary time nor do we adequately train the teachers on the curriculum. Take Illustrative Math, which is a great program BUT so few teachers understand it. And it should be rolled out in the earliest grades, not 9th.
The quiet part no one discusses? How many students attend a SHS, graduate and enroll in college only to drop out with out a degree? A shocking number.
